IWH Linen North Star Explorer Cushion

by Collections

£125.00

QTY

Handprinted onto British Linen, this design was developed from initial sketches which took inspiration from Arctic wildlife and traditional Inuit artistic styles.

Designed by Ursula Hunter for the Isobel Wylie Hutchison Collection, Carlowrie Castle

These sketches were then combined into a cohesive pattern and carved by hand into a lino tile. This lino tile is inked up and used to create hand-printed linen textiles such as this cushion.

This design draws upon Isobel’s childhood and her ambitions to break the mould of restrictive Victorian society and head out to explore the Arctic.
