This soft, drapeable cowl is woven in two layers of baby alpaca blended with silk to bring you both elegance and warmth. The hand-dyed colour palette combines shades of aqua and sea blue with silver and storm grey. 'Deep Harbour' looks equally good whether it is paired with casual denim or topping off a smart evening outfit, and it is deep enough to be pulled up over the head as a snood. You may find that you never want to take it off!
My home city, Dundee, is changing. Inspired by the work that is transforming the city's shoreline, I created my Waterfront Collection. The yarns are hand-dyed for a distinctive palette that expresses Dundee's extraordinary setting beside the River Tay. Each piece is handwoven on my 16-shaft mechanical dobby loom, using an innovative double-lace construction in an individual combination of colour and pattern. There will never be another cowl like yours.

Cally Booker is a handweaver, textile designer, writer and teacher. Having started her career as a mathematician, this comes as a daily surprise! But in her mid-thirties she found herself in front of a small table loom learning to thread the individual strands of yarn through loops of polyester string, called heddles. It was slow and fiddly to her clumsy unaccustomed fingers. And it was utterly absorbing.
Before she knew it, Cally was back in college and her home in Dundee was filling up with looms. Now she is based in a studio on the top floor of a refurbished jute mill, where she creates one-off pieces, bespoke yardage and micro-collections of homewares and accessories under the Bonny Claith label.
Her work is exhibited around the UK and abroad, and she actively seeks to promote the craft of weaving through workshops, demonstrations and talks.
